What is Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor?
This technology is generally known in the industry as volatile or vapor corrosion inhibiting technology (“VCI”). Zerust VCI is primarily made of approved non-toxic and safe food preservatives. The Zerust chemical molecules are deposited from the Zerust packaging material onto the metal surfaces and form a powerful molecular layer that passivates the metal surface and protects it from corrosion. This layer is invisible, dry and does not affect the physical properties or functionality of the metal in any way. The protected metal can be painted, treated and/or used straight out of the Zerust package without further cleaning.
VCI Packaging Films
Zerust is the original VCI film company and invented VCI infused plastic technology. Zerust Packaging films are available in many stock and custom options. VCI Film comes in a range of sizes and MIL thicknesses and can be made in tubing, J-sheeting and c-fold sheeting. Some stock options are flat VCI bags, zipper bags and VCI gusset liners. A range of metal protection types are available as well as acid-gas scavenging technology and additives such as ESD and UV protection can be incorporated.
VCI Emitters & VCI Diffusers
Zerust offers VCI Diffusers (also known as VCI emitters) that provide targeted corrosion protection in hard-to-reach enclosed spaces or can be used as added protection to Zerust VCI packaging products. VCI Diffusers emit powerful Zerust corrosion inhibiting molecules into an enclosure that settle on metal surfaces and protect them from corrosion. They are safe for electronics, odorless*, non-toxic*, residue-free, and are designed to work in restricted spaces.
ActivPak
Zerust/Excor ActivPak(LS) packets offers a new technology of Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor (VCI) combined with Volatile Flash Corrosion Inhibitor (FCI™) to protect ferrous and aluminum metals in enclosed spaces. This combination goes to work in minutes to protect against both flash rust and long-term corrosion with its progressive VCI chemistry
Aquasorbit
Aquasorbit is a high performance desiccant, formed by adding firming agent into Magnesium Chloride. It uses chemical reactions to absorb moisture and will become solidified after use.
